On this tour of the Siege of Leningrad, we'll remember one of the most important moments of St. Petersburg's past and learn about the history of this dramatic event.

Siege of Leningrad Tour

When making your reservation, you'll be able to choose between the following options. In both of them, we'll start the tour at the selected time at Alexander Column, located in the Palace Square.

Walking tour (two and a half hours)

We'll begin our tour of the Siege of Leningrad by visiting the places that still retain traces of this tragic event in the history of Russia, in which the Nazis blockaded the city and caused the death of thousands of people from cold and starvation.

Next, we'll pass the Anichkov Bridge, where we'll see the remains of artillery used during the offensive. Then we'll walk to the Leningrad Siege Museum, where you'll learn more about the siege through the many exhibits in its halls.

There you'll find photos, documents, and propaganda leaflets, but what will certainly catch your attention will be a scale holding a sample of a piece of bread. Did you know that this tiny 125-gram (4 ounces) ration was the only daily food that some families could get during the blockade?

Tour with transport (four and a half hours)

If you prefer to do the tour comfortably by transport and move to other places of interest further away, you can book this option.

After visiting the same places as in the walking tour, we'll visit Victory Square, where we'll visit the monument erected in honor of the Heroic Defenders of Leningrad and also see the remains of artillery.

Also, we'll go by bus to Pulkovo Hill, where we'll visit the war memorial and admire Soviet tanks. We will also learn why it was a strategic place during the siege.

Our next stop will be Piskarevskoe cemetery, where many of those who died after the siege were buried in mass graves. As in the former option, we'll end the tour at the Siege Museum.
