Explore Trogir: Croatia's Little Venice
After meeting on Obala Lazareta Street in Split, we'll set off on a brief 45-minute scenic drive along the Dalmation Coast, heading towards Trogir—also known as Croatia's 'Little Venice!' Get ready to explore some of Croatia's most impressive architectural gems in this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
As the town comes into view, we'll be treated to a stunning coastal landscape. Trogir is an ancient island city, connected to the mainland by a picturesque stone bridge creating a postcard-worthy panorama.
Diving into our guided tour of Trogir, first up is a visit to the impressive Cathedral. From the outside, we'll get a wonderful view of the intricate Romanesque façade as we talk about the history behind this majestic church.
Next up, we'll drive over to the main square, where we'll find the Cipiko Palace and Town Hall building. The Cipiko Palace is especially unique for its architecture, having been shaped by Trogir's Venetian influence. This palace and the Town Hall building are both excellent examples of the rich blend of Renaissance and Baroque architecture we'll find throughout the city.
Just a short walk from the main square is the Kamerlengo Fortress, the town's main point of protection, built in the 15th century by the Venetians. We'll climb up the eroded stone walls to reach the viewpoint on top for breathtaking panoramas of Trogir.
After soaking up the landscapes of brilliant blue waters alongside the city, we'll give you some free time to explore Trogir's charming cobblestoned streets. Stroll through artisanal shops, sample traditional Dalmatian dishes, or simply relax by the sea as you enjoy the fresh air. The choice is yours!
Then, after 2 hours and 45 minutes, we'll bring our guided visit to an end back at the meeting point in Split.
