Delve into the World of Olive Oil
Italy is one of the main producers of olive oil in the Mediterranean, especially in regions such as Sicily. To learn more about the production of extra virgin olive oil on the island, we'll meet at the Terra Surti estate, located on the outskirts of the town of Sortino.
On this estate, we'll have the chance to visit its olive oil mill, where we'll see first-hand how the olives are transformed into olive oil and learn about the various stages of the process required to produce a high-quality product.
Next, we'll put on our virtual reality goggles to get a better insight into this process. Through virtual reality, we'll see how the olives are harvested, which includes shaking the olive trees!
After a tour of approximately 1 hour, we'll conclude our visit with a tasting of extra virgin olive oil, one of the fundamental components of Mediterranean cuisine.

If you choose this option, at the end of the visit to the olive oil mill, we'll enjoy a delicious traditional Sicilian lunch on the estate. The menu includes traditional bread, olives, cured cheese, salami, bruschetta with traditional pâté, stuffed pizzolo, ricotta and honey. Drinks include mineral water, white wine or red wine.
