Sofia Guided Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet in front of the Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and set off on our guided tour of Sofia. As we head inside this building, which is the second-largest cathedral in the Balkans, we'll discover why it was named after a Russian prince.
During our tour we'll also pass by the Church of Saint George, which is Sofia's oldest building as it was constructed by the Romans on top of the ruins of a Pagan temple in the ancient city of Serdica.
Next we'll head to Saint Sofia Church. This church has been one of the symbols of the Bulgarian capital since its construction in the 6th century.
Our journey through Bulgaria's history will continue as we visit The Largo, an architectural ensemble of three Stalinist buildings. These include the former House of the Bulgarian Communist Party, the Council of Ministers of Bulgaria and the President's Office.
Some of the other highlights of our tour will be the Parliament, the former Royal Palace and the Ivan Vazov National Theatre, the most important theatre in Bulgaria and one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.
After a 2-hour guided tour of Sofia and its must-see sights, we'll say our goodbyes in the city centre.
