Hagar Qim Temples & Blue Grotto Tour

Half-day tour

Having picked you up from your hotel we begin our excursion visiting the oldest limestone quarry in Malta, where we'll learn the ancient art of the local master stonemasons. Then we'll hit the road to the South of the island to visit the megalithic temples of Hagar Qim, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

On our tour of the archaeological site, we'll discover the history of these religious monuments, whose construction continues to provoke questions of expert investigators. Then our tour continues to the nearby coastal town of Wied iz-Zurrieq, where we'll board a boat and cruise over to the famous Blue Grotto (boat trip not included). Do you know how this extraordinary natural monument was formed?

With the tour of the cave over, we'll begin the return journey to your hotel and arrive between 12:30 and 1:30 pm.

Full-day tour

If you want an even more complete tour, when booking, you can choose the full-day option. In the morning, we'll follow the same itinerary as the one described above, visiting the megalithic temples of Hagar Qim and the Blue Grotto.

We'll have a delicious lunch in the village in the area consisting of a starter, main course, dessert, and wine. After lunch, we'll drive through the vineyard scenery to the charming fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Here you'll have free time to stroll around the local market along the waterfront.

Our final stop will take place in the Ghar Dalam prehistoric cave, an essential stop for anyone wanting to understand the Neolithic past of the island.

With the tour of the cave over, we'll begin the return journey to your hotel, arriving between 4:30 and 5:30 pm.

Hotel Pick Up

This tour includes hotel pick up between 8:30 and 9:15 am from the main hotels on the island. Having made your reservation the local provider will contact you to confirm the exact time and place.
