Description
The ferry to the islands of Gozo and Comino departs from the ports of Sliema and Bugibba, both located on the island of Malta.
The crossing, which takes approximately one hour, takes place on board a modern ferry with a cafeteria service. You'll also enjoy magnificent views of the Maltese archipelago from the boat's panoramic decks.
This trip across the Mediterranean Sea will take you to the islands of Gozo and Comino. Once you disembark, you'll be able to explore these islands at your leisure. For the return to the island of Malta, there are several ferries available in the afternoon.
What To Do on Gozo & Comino
The ferry will take you to the port of Mgarr, located in the south of Gozo Island: the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago. Here, you can enjoy its paradise beaches and extensive archaeological remains.
Comino is the smallest island in the Maltese archipelago, but it's well worth a visit to admire its stunning Mediterranean landscapes. Comino's main attraction is the famous Blue Lagoon, where the ferry will drop you off. As well as offering many opportunities for a refreshing swim, this small Maltese island is also ideal for easy hiking trails.
How it Works
You can get on and off the ferry as many times as you like during the same day.
Depending on the hour of departure, you'll enjoy some free time on each island as follows: 2 hours in Gozo followed by 2 hours in Comino; 2 hours in Comino followed by 2 hours in Gozo; 5 hours in Gozo; or 5 hours in Comino.

The ferry departs from these ports on the island of Malta:
- Sliema Harbour
- Bugibba Pier
The ferry between Comino and Gozo has the following schedule:
- Port of Sliema: 2 departures at 10 am. The return to Sliema Harbour is scheduled at 5:05 pm or 6:10 pm (from 10 May to 1 October); or at 5:40 pm (from 2 October to 9 May).
- Port of Bugibba: departure at 10:40 am (from 1 October to 18 April) or at 11:30 am (from 19 April to 1 October). Return scheduled at 7:30 pm (from 10 May to 1 October) or at 5 pm (from 2 October to 9 May).
Important Info
As of May 1, 2025, if you want to disembark in the Blue Lagoon of Comino, you will have to book a free entrance ticket on the Government's website (www.blcomino.com) for the afternoon hours. Without this reservation, you will not be able to access the lagoon. If you prefer to swim in the lagoon or stay on board, you will not need this ticket.
