Cruise Along the Eastern Shore of Lake Garda
At the indicated time we'll meet at Piazzale Porto in Sirmione to board a boat for a delightful cruise on the enchanting Lake Garda, one of the most famous springs in Northern Italy.
During the cruise, we'll admire the natural environment that surrounds Lake Garda and spot the walls and fortresses that stretch along its shores, such as the Scaligero Castle and the Lazise Castle. Thanks to an audioguide, we'll also learn the important defensive role that these constructions played.
Sailing between the regions of Veneto and Lombardy, we'll make our way to Bardolino, where we'll disembark for an hour. Here, we'll stroll through its charming streets until we reach a restaurant where we'll be served a snack consisting of various hors d'oeuvres and three glasses of wine.
Then, we'll return to the boat to continue the cruise, spotting Garda and Punta San Vigilio. If you wish, we can also stop at Villa Canossa for a refreshing dip in front of this neo-Romanesque noble mansion.
We'll conclude the cruise 4 hours later disembarking at the starting point.
Cruise Along the Western Shore of Lake Garda
We'll meet at the indicated time at the Piazzale Porto of the Scaligero Castle from where we'll start this cruise from Sirmione to explore the western shore of Lake Garda.
The first stop will be the villa of the famous opera singer Maria Callas, located on the top of a hill above Sirmione. Then we'll continue to the tip of the Sirmione peninsula, where we can admire the Catullo Grottoes. Did you know they date back to the end of the 1st century BC and the beginning of the 1st century AD?
Next, we'll reach the promontory of Rocca di Manerba where, if you'd like, we can take a short break for a dip in the crystal clear waters of the lake. Afterward, we'll set sail for Salò, where we'll dock for a 1-hour stop, during which can opt to visit the historic center of town.
Once back on board the boat, we'll continue towards Gardone Riviera, where we'll toast with a glass of prosecco while enjoying the view. Then, we'll arrive at the San Marco Tower, one of the most emblematic buildings of Lake Garda.
On the way back to Sirmione, we'll see from the boat the Boiola spring, famous for its therapeutic properties. Before ending the experience, we'll skirt the walls of the Scaligero Castle, passing under the drawbridge, the only pedestrian access to the peninsula.
Then, after an envigorating 4 hours, we'll bring the experience to an end, back at the starting point.
