Description
Hidden among the vegetation of the Sintra mountains is the Biester Palace, a 19th-century mansion recently opened to the public.
This complex of great historical and artistic importance was designed by famous architects of the time, such as José Luiz Monteiro and Luigi Manini, creator of the famous Quinta da Regaleira palace.
This entrance will give you access to the residence and gardens, both designed in an exquisite Romantic style. As soon as you enter the Biester Palace, through the Entrance Gallery, you'll be able to admire the beauty of the wooden coffered ceilings and the Naturalistic paintings that decorate the ceilings and walls.
The tour will take you through the Drawing Room, the Banquet Hall and its Neo-Gothic portico, the atrium and the chapel, full of Templar symbols. If you access the basement of the Biester Palace you'll find an Initiatory Chamber, connected to the garden by a tunnel.
The park surrounding the palace is a real paradise filled with exotic plants, ponds, and green areas. You can stroll peacefully through the lush gardens and climb to its viewpoints, from where you can see the Castelo dos Mouros.
