Polonnaruwa Excursion + Safari in Minneriya National Park
At 8:30 am on the morning of the activity, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Sigiriya. From there, we'll head east towards Polonnaruwa, about an hour and fifteen minutes away.
Polonnaruwa was one of the capitals of Sri Lanka and the seat of the Sinhalese kings for two centuries. Here, we'll enjoy touring its ancient ruins, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We'll visit the famous Quadrangle, the unique Vatadage, the important stone-carved inscription of Gal Pota, the small Buddhist temple of Thuparama Gedige as well as the Gal Vihara Buddha sculpture.
Then, after stopping at a restaurant for lunch, we'll head to Habarana, a place surrounded by lush vegetation near Minneriya National Park, our next stop.
Ready for the safari? We'll enter Minneriya National Park and walk through this beautiful natural environment in search of native wildlife. Have you ever seen a wild elephant from just a few meters away? Now is your chance! You'll love the experience of seeing these immense mammals in their natural habitat.
After three hours of enjoying the safari, we'll return to your hotel in Sigiriya, arriving at 6:30 pm.
