Want to explore the seabed? In this snorkeling activity at Caño Island, we'll set sail from Sierpe and dive into one of the paradises of the pacific coast of Costa Rica.
Snorkeling at Caño Island
We'll meet at 7:50 am at Sierpe's Pier, where we'll board a boat that will take us to one of the most paradisiacal islands of Costa Rica.
The first part of the trip, which will last 45 minutes, will take us through the Térraba-Sierpe area, the largest wetland in Costa Rica. Then, we'll head to the open sea and continue sailing for 30 minutes across the Pacific towards the Caño Island Biological Reserve.
Once we reach this dreamy oasis, you'll have three hours of free time to snorkel at Caño Island. The seabed of this uninhabited islet has a rich ecosystem where it's possible to see various kinds of tropical fish diving at shallow depths.
After this first dive, we'll take a break for a picnic lunch on one of the island's beaches. The menu includes different local specialties that will allow us to take on the second dive with replenished energy.
Following lunch, we'll rest on the beach and then return to the water. This time, you'll have an hour and a half to explore the seabed of Caño Island. Its beautiful coral reefs will leave you speechless!
At the end of this second dive, we'll return to the boat and start the trip back to the departure dock, where arrival is scheduled for 4:15 pm.
