Private Tour of Battambang

  • 2 reviews | 17 travellers
It was impossible for us to spend more than one day in Battambang since we were staying in Siem Reap, so we saw this excursion and we couldn't have chosen more. Although the trip is just under 3 hours by car, it is very pleasant because the views are unique and on top of that our guide explained many things to us. Our guide was Alejandro (“Chambron”) and he was excellent. He knew a lot about everything and spoke very good Spanish. He was very funny and encouraged us to try some local things. Everything was great :)

Private Tour of Battambang

Having picked you up from your hotel in Siem Reap at 8:30 am, we'll set off on the three hour drive to the city of Battambang, ready to delve into Cambodia's fascinating history.

Arriving in Battambang, we'll embark on a guided tour of the city, discovering its French colonial house, centuries-old pagodas and the giant statue of Ta Dumbong. We'll also make a stop at the historic temple of Wat Ek Phnom. Exploring this 11th century Angkorian sanctuary, we'll get to see an enormous statue of Buddha which remains in excellent condition despite its age.

Following our guided tour of Battambang, we'll have the opportunity to take a ride on the famous bamboo train, known locally as a norry. After experiencing this unique means of transport, our driver will be waiting to take us to a restaurant in Battambang, where we'll indulge in a delicious lunch of local delicacies.

After lunch, we'll make our way to Phnom Sampov mountain, a spectacular natural site where we'll visit a cave known for the bat colony which inhabits it. From Phnom Sampov, we'll make the journey back to Siem Reap, where you'll be dropped off around 8:30 pm.

Entrance fees not included

This tour does not include tickets for the bamboo train or the entrance fees to the monuments visited. The total amount per person for these tickets is approximately US$ 10.
