Phnom Kulen Trip
Between 7:40 am and 8:10 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Siem Reap and drive about 45 kilometres (27 miles) north to Phnom Kulen, the Holy Mountains of Kulen.
Phnom Kulen National Park is home to the ruins of the ancient city of Mahendraparvata. Our guide will show you around every corner of this sacred place while you learn all about its fascinating history.
In Phnom Kulen, you'll encounter the curious River of a Thousand Lingas, with a beautiful hand-carved riverbed, sculpted by local inhabitants during the 9th century. There are also traditional Apsara figures and religious Vishnu statues hidden under the water.
Then we'll continue our tour to Preah Ang Thom Pagoda, and the summit of the mountain where we'll find the giant reclining Buddha. We'll spend some time admiring the architecture of the pagoda which is magnificently built into the rock surface of the mountain.
Our next stop will be the Kulen waterfall where you'll be able to enjoy a refreshing dip in the natural pool. Then we'll take some time to enjoy lunch - don't forget to bring your own picnic!
Finally, we'll return to the hotels in Siem Reap around 4:30 pm.
