Private Historic Shanghai Guided Tour
Your guide will pick you up at your hotel, and you'll head to Shanghai’s historic center in a comfortable air-conditioned vehicle.
The first stop of the tour is the Yu Garden (sometimes also known as Yuyuan Garden), a beautiful park founded by a civil servant between 1559 and 1577 for his father. Next, visit the market and its surrounding streets, which are full of culturally interesting edifices.
Once you’ve explored the market, travel to Jade Buddha Temple, the city’s most famous temple. It was built in 1882 to house two sculptures from Burma.
Continue the tour in Tianzifang, an artsy district full of boutiques and restaurants. Then, follow your guide to the Shanghai French Concession, a twentieth-century neighborhood. This European-style area is a great place to have a bite to eat or a cup of coffee at your own leisure.
After lunch, drive to The Bund, one of Shanghai’s most singular and emblematic areas home to the oldest colonial buildings. The Bund also offers the best views of Pudong and its futuristic skyscrapers.
At the end of the day, head to the Shanghai Museum, one of China’s most-visited museums. It accommodates beautiful sculptures and objects made of bronze, jade, and porcelain, among other interesting items.
Your guide will drop you off at your hotel or in any other area you want at 6 pm.
Changes to the itinerary
Please note that the Shanghai Museum is closed to the public on Mondays and on days when the museum has special events. In these cases, we'll visit other places in Shanghai instead.
