Glacier Hike in Kenai Fjords National Park
Glacier Hike in Kenai Fjords National Park
Bright and early, we'll meet up at Seward Hwy, and a minibus will transport us to the heart of Kenai Fjords National Park, where we'll embark on a thrilling journey through the magnificent glaciers of the region.
After arriving, we'll don our crampons and trekking poles and set off on our adventure, covering approximately six kilometers (4 miles) and an altitude change of roughly 500 meters (1,640 feet). Although it'll be a challenging hike, the awe-inspiring scenery will make it all worthwhile!
As we walk across the massive ice formations, we'll venture inside the Kenai Fjords glaciers, uncovering their mysteries and learning how they were created, as well as the impact of global warming on them.
Our guides will also teach us about the wildlife that inhabits these Alaskan lands, and we might even be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of bears, moose, mountain goats, or marmots.
During our excursion, we'll take a break to refuel with a sandwich, an energy bar, and a piece of fruit. We'll have our picnic perched on the ice of the glaciers.
After eight hours of adventure, we'll return to our transportation and head back to the starting point where we'll say our goodbyes.
