Alternative Tour of Seville
Alternative Tour of Seville
We'll meet at the indicated time at the Plaza de la Encarnación to start our tour of the more alternative side of the city.
Accompanied by our guide, we'll head towards the northern part of the centre of Seville, away from the most touristy streets and into the most authentic Seville. After discovering the origin of the peculiar Setas de Sevilla, or the Mushrooms of Seville, and marvelling at this unique construction, we'll head along Calle Feria to the Church of San Juan de la Palma, one of the oldest churches in the city.
Afterwards, we'll walk to the Palace of the Marquises of Algaba, located next to the Church of Omnium Sanctorum, perfect to learn about Seville's medieval past.
Later, we'll continue our tour of Seville by entering the Macarena neighbourhood. We'll go to the Basilica de la Macarena, home of one of the most famous brotherhoods of the Sevillian Holy Week. Next to it, we'll see the Macarena Arch, one of the three entrances of the Sevillian wall that we can still admire today.
We'll continue our tour exploring the old Cardo Máximo of the city, passing by the Plaza del Pimarejo, the Church of Santa Marina or the Church of San Luis de los Franceses, a real jewel of the Sevillian baroque. The next stop is the Church of San Marcos, the prelude to one of the highlights of the tour: the Palacio de Dueñas.
Then, we'll go inside the palace, known for having been the private residence of the Duchess of Alba. We'll visit its gardens and rooms and, after a complete tour of Seville, we'll say goodbye 3 hours later.
