At the scheduled time, we'll meet at Doca das Fontainhas, in Setúbal, to begin a very special activity. Here, we'll hop aboard a boat to begin this pleasant route around Alcácer do Sal.
From the boat, we'll admire the landscapes of the Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, one of the most spectacular protected spaces in Portugal. Not only for its rich nature but also for its cultural and archaeological heritage.
As we follow the river's course, we'll discover the most famous aspects of Alcácer do Sal. We'll also hear interesting facts about the main points of interest of this town on the banks of the Sado River, such as the history of the reserve and the different species of birds that inhabit it. You'll love these views!
In addition, during the journey, we'll learn why Alcácer do Sal was so important during the Roman times and where its name came from. Can you think of where it might have originated from? We'll visit its coast, where we'll discover spots such as Praia da Comporta, Praia da Torre, Praia Carvalhal, Praia da Raposa and Praia Galé.
