If you're in Sciacca and you'd like to visit Sicily's capital, we've got it covered! On our day trip to Palermo and Monreale, you'll explore 2,500 years of history and visit an incredible cathedral with gold Byzantine mosaics.
Palermo & Monreale Day Trip

Having picked you up at 8:15 am from your chosen meeting point, we'll leave Sciacca behind and head to Palermo. Our journey by minibus to Sicily's capital will take just over 1 hour.

The first stop of the day will be at the Catacombs of Palermo. You'll have 30 minutes of free time here to visit this funerary complex if you wish. This place, which has a real impact on all who visit, is the best way to learn about life and traditions surrounding death from the 17th to the 19th century.

Next, we'll take you to the historic centre of Palermo, where you'll have 3 hours to explore the city at your leisure. Iconic monuments such as the Cathedral, which combines Arab, Gothic and Baroque elements, the fountain in Piazza Pretoria, the Massimo Theatre and the Norman Palace await! Did you know that the latter is one of the oldest royal residences in Europe?

You'll also want to get a taste of some of Palermo's delicious gastronomy at a traditional market such as the Capo or La Vucciria. After you've had lunch, we'll reconvene and drive through the Conca d'Oro Valley to Monreale. When we get there, you'll have 1 hour 30 minutes to visit the town.

In Monreale, you'll soon see how the magnificent cathedral, which dates back to 1174, stands out in the old town. If you choose to head inside, you'll admire numerous mosaics that illustrate various biblical scenes. Nearby, you'll find the charming squares of William II and Vittorio Emmanuele.

We'll then head back to the starting point and drop you off at around 6 pm. See you next time!
