Wormsloe & Bonaventure Cemetery Day Trip
Having picked you up at 9:30 am from the Savannah Visitor Centre. we'll drive to the Bonaventure Cemetery. Did you know that it's considered one of the most beautiful cemeteries in the world?
During the guided tour of this cemetery, which dates back to 1846, we'll walk among moss-covered oak trees that cast shade over the beautiful, 19th-century funerary monuments. The sculptures that adorn the tombstones emanate a remarkable realism and expressiveness that we're sure you'll love.
As we stroll through the necropolis, we'll also see the tombs of several illustrious figures. These include the tombs of the composer Johnny Mercer, philanthropist Mary Telfair and politician Edward Telfair, who was the State of Georgia's first governor.
Next, we'll head to the Erica Davis Lowcountry Restaurant. You'll have 1 hour of free time here to sample some traditional Southern cuisine, such as grilled dishes and seafood specialities.
After lunch, we'll continue our day trip with a visit to the Wormsloe Plantation. This Historic Site, which is located on the picturesque Isle of Hope, is an iconic natural site famous for its picturesque oak trees.
