Description
When booking your boat trip on the river Loire from Saumur, you can choose one of the following options. All depart at the indicated time from the Quai Lucien Gautier quay and end at the same point.
Boat Trip (1 hour)
On this boat trip on the Loire, you'll enjoy a one-hour cruise and discover some stories related to the longest river in France. As we sail, we'll see the castle of Saumur and other important monuments of the city. These include Le Dôme theatre, St Peter's church and the Cessart bridge, the oldest bridge in Saumur.
The guide on board will tell us the history of these monuments, which have become an icon of the Loire Valley. This area of France was a favourite of kings and nobles, who chose to build their sumptuous châteaux and palaces on the banks of the river.
You'll also enjoy a drink during the trip, with a choice between a glass of sparkling Crémant wine or a fruit juice.
Timetable: 3 pm
Sunset boat trip (2 hours)
On this two-hour cruise, you'll enjoy the romantic sunsets of the Loire Valley. From the boat, you'll see the sunset tinge the château of Saumur and the surrounding monuments with orange and scarlet tones.
The sunset will also allow us to contemplate the Loire from another perspective, watching the last rays of sunlight reflect on the waters of the river, under the arches of its bridges. To make the experience even more complete, you'll have two drinks on board, with a choice of sparkling Crémant or local wines.
Timetable: 7.30 pm.
Basket of local products
If you choose the boat or sunset trip, you can complete your experience with a basket of local products for two people. This hamper, which can be booked on the boat itself, is priced at € 14 (US$ 14.80) and includes Loire fish rillettes, black pudding and baguette.
