Excursion to Gjirokastër
Excursion to Gjirokastër
At 9 am, we'll meet up at the Tea Tours & Bookstore Toena. Then we board the vehicle and set off on our journey to the charming city of Gjirokastra, about an hour away from Saranda.
Upon arrival, the historical charm of this ancient fortress city will immediately grab your attention. We'll set off on a guided tour of this UNESCO-protected area and learn about its fascinating Ottoman history.
Our first stop along the tour will be at the breathtaking Caste of Gjirokastra. From there, we'll head to the Ethnographic Museum, whose interiors are a replica of those of the finest 19th-century houses. We'll also visit The House of Zakat and Scaly, the oldest house in the city.
Next, we'll explore the museum house of Ismail Kadare before having some free time to check out the city a bit more on your own and eat lunch.
At the end of the tour, we'll get back in the vehicle and return to the meeting point after a total of 5 hours.
