Sarajevo Walking Tour
We'll meet at Zelenih Beretki 30 at 10:30 am, and then we'll begin our guided walking tour through the old town of the centuries-old capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Throughout our guided tour of Sarajevo, we'll learn about city's storied history, which was an Ottoman stronghold in the 15th century. We'll hear about its role in the First World War, as the place where Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria was assassinated.
We'll also admire the impressive architecture of its buildings and discover the incredible diversity of the city. Did you know that Sarajevo is one of very few European cities where a mosque, Catholic church, Orthodox church and synagogue are all located in the same neighbourhood? Not for nothing, this fascinating city has been called the "Jerusalem of Europe"!
We'll see the oldest brewery of the Ottoman Empire, an inn of that era, and streets known for their traditional cuisine such as Bravadžiluk and Kazandžiluk.
Next, we'll visit the Baščaršija, the old bazaar and heart of the city, which was built during the Ottoman rule. Here you can browse through the various stalls and pickup a souvenir of your tour of Sarajevo.
After walking along other highlights such as the Sebilg Fountain or the Eternal Flame, we'll end the tour at around 1:30 pm back at the starting point.
