Day Trip Details
At the designated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Sarajevo and begin our trip towards the region of Visegrad, known for its rich past and beautiful natural surroundings. Let's go!
Throughout this 2-hour journey, you'll be able to relax and enjoy the majestic mountainous landscapes as well as the Drina River. Once we reach Visegrad, we'll go on a 20-minute walk around this city. We're sure that you'll be intrigued by the Mehmed Paša Sokolović Bridge. Built almost 500 years ago, it's turned into a symbol in Visegrad thanks to the Nobel Prize for Literature winner, Ivo Andrić.
Following the steps of this writer, we'll also visit the city of Andrićgrad, built in his honour. Here, we'll explore the small cobbled streets for 30 minutes and we'll admire the fusion of architectural styles, that evoke different eras and work together to give the city a unique feel. A true open-air ode to Slavic culture!
We'll continue our route up to the Dobrun monastery, one of the most important orthodox treasures in the region. Here, we'll have a 15-minute stop so you can admire this peaceful and spiritual spot surrounded by green mountains and rivers. Did you know that this monastery has withstood the test of time for centuries?
Afterwards, we'll make our way to Mokra Gora, a picturesque village located at the border between Bosnia and Serbia. Over the course of a 40-minute guided tour, we'll learn about its history and we'll get to enjoy beautiful scenic views of the landscape surrounding this village.
Hungry? Once your tummy starts rumbling, you'll have 30 minutes of free time for you to grab some lunch at a local restaurant.
Later on, we'll arrive at Drvengrad, a charming wooden village built in the mountains as a set for a Serbian film. In this spot, also known as Küstendorf, time seems to have frozen, with its traditional houses and views of the impressive natural surroundings. Here, we'll go on another guided tour, to explore its postcard-pretty streets and the rustic atmosphere that it boasts of.
Lastly, we'll begin our journey back to Sarajevo and we'll say our goodbyes at your hotel after a total of 12 hours.
