Pico do Jaraguá Hike
Hike Details
Interested in climbing up to the highest point in São Paulo? Then, after meeting at the designated time at Rua Oscar Freire number 2500, we'll start our journey toward the Jaraguá State Park, one of the city's best-preserved natural sites. Let's go!
Once we reach the starting point, we'll begin our 1.86-mile (3-kilometer) hiking route. Ready to hike uphill? We'll begin our journey along the Trilha do Pai Zé (Pai Zé Trail), an impressive path that passes through two types of forest: the Atlantic and the Cerrado.
While we walk, we'll be surrounded by tall trees that create light and shadows. As you observe the fauna, we'll tell you about this area and how, despite its proximity to the city, it remains so lush. Before you know it, we'll reach the old residence of Alfonso Sardinha. Here, we'll make a stop to learn about his history as a slave trader during the colonial era.
Finally, we'll reach the stunning Pico do Jaraguá, where the spectacular views will make our efforts worth it. As you take in the scenic sights of the city and Serra da Canteira, you'll enjoy a sandwich and water. You deserve it!
After enjoying this adventure, we'll return to the initial starting point, where we'll say our goodbyes after a total of 6 hours.
