Once we've picked you up from your hotel in Sao Paulo at the scheduled time, we'll meet up with the guide and set off on a tour of the city's most important Christian churches. Did you know that over 90% of Brazil's population is religious and that 89% of this group is Christian?

Our first stop will be the Metropolitan Cathedral of Sao Paulo, which is also called the Catedral da Sé. This is the most important Catholic building in the city and one of the five largest neo-gothic sanctuaries in the world. 

Next, we'll head to the Monastery of St. Benedict. We'll tell you all about the 400 years of history that this important, Beuronese-style building houses. Did you know that this monastery hosted Pope Benedict XVI in 2007?

The tour will then take us to the Convent and Sanctuary of Sao Francisco, which was founded in the 17th century. In the basement, we'll find the bakery where bread is baked daily and then sold at the door of the church.

Afterwards, we'll pass by the Church of Santo Antonio, a historical heritage site of the state, which is home to pieces of art from the colonial period. When we get to the Museum of Sacred Art in Sao Paulo, we'll tell you about the work of this institution in the conservation, study and exhibition of objects related to sacred art.

To round off the tour, we'll visit the spectacular Church of Nossa Sra do Brasil. You won't be too surprised to find out that it's one of the most popular wedding venues in Sao Paulo!
