Day tour (3 hours)
At the time indicated, we'll pick you up from your hotel in São Luís to start learning about the Maranhão capital's history and culture. Did you know that it's the only Brazilian city that was founded by the French? Firstly, we'll explore São Luís' beaches, from where we'll be able to see the Espigão and the Jansen Lake. Here, we'll tell you about the mysterious legend of the person whom the lake is named after as we cross the bridge over the Anil River.
We'll arrive at the historic centre in São Luís and we'll explore its streets by foot. Did you know that São Luís has more than 3,000 buildings that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries? You'll be amazed by its buildings decorated with different coloured tiles.
Additionally, we'll see the São Luís Cathedral, Rua do Giz and the Palacio dos Leões Palace, the state Government headquarters. Finally, we'll head to the Tulhas Market, a specialist in Maranhão products.
Night tour (4 hours)
After picking you up from your hotel in São Luís at the time indicated, we'll start our night tour around the illuminated capital in Maranhão. Let's go!
We'll explore the areas that are particularly lively at night, such as Avenida Litorânea, Jansen Lake, Península and Praia Grande Beach so that you can enjoy the area's bars and restaurants. Here, you can try local food and even buy some souvenirs from certain stalls.
If you do the night tour during the month of June, you can also experience São Luís folklore up close. Do you know what Bumba-Meu-Boi is? We'll tell you all about this Afro-indigenous tradition and notice how they fill the streets with excitement and life.
