São Joaquim Guided Tour
We'll pick you up at your hotel at 9 am to start a comprehensive tour of São Joaquim. Welcome to this charming city of Santa Catarina!
Did you know that this city is known as the national apple capital of Brazil? During the tour, we'll tell you about the importance of the cultivation of this fruit and many other curiosities as we walk through its main attractions.
We'll visit the Igreja Matriz de São Joaquim, a temple built in 1935 with basalt stone brought from the nearby hills in ox carts. Afterward, we'll pass by the Monument to Manoel Joaquim Pinto, an open-air space with several stone and wood sculptures that tell the history of the municipality.
If you've worked up an appetite, we'll make a stop around noon in the city center so that you can have lunch on your own at a local restaurant.
Next, we'll visit the squares of Praça João Ribeiro and Praça Cesário Amarante, as well as the Municipal History Museum. We'll then reach the Mirante dos Pinheiros, which features a panoramic view of the city and a field of monkey puzzle trees up to 50 meters (164 feet) high.
To end our tour of São Joaquim on a high note, we'll visit the Villa Francioni winery where we'll learn about its facilities and the winemaking process, as well as taste this delicious beverage.
After five hours of activity, we'll take you back to your hotel in São Joaquim.
