Akrotiri, Red Beach & Oia Day Trip
Akrotiri, Red Beach & Oia Day Trip
We'll pick you up at your selected meeting point in Santorini. There, we'll board a comfortable air-conditioned minibus to start our excursion to Akrotiri, the Red Beach and Oia.
Our first stop will be the Prophet Elias Monastery, an Orthodox religious complex built in 1712 and located on the highest point of Santorini. Next, we'll head towards the village of Pyrgos, very close to the monastery. Here, we'll enjoy strolling through its picturesque narrow streets - you won't be able to resist taking a souvenir photo!
The next stop will be the archaeological site of Akrotiri, one of the most impressive archaeological sites in the Eastern Mediterranean from the prehistoric period. Did you know that this site has been linked to the lost city of Atlantis?
Much of the site is in a perfect state of conservation due to various volcanic eruptions that buried the place. We'll see the remains of the ancient buildings, some of which have preserved Minoan frescoes of great artistic beauty.
Afterwards, we'll go to Red Beach, where you'll have approximately 40 minutes of free time to enjoy this fantastic place and have lunch in one of its restaurants.
With your batteries recharged, we'll get back in the vehicle and drive you to Fira, the capital of Santorini, where you'll have the perfect opportunity to take some of the best photos of the Caldera.
Finally, we'll head to the village of Oia to admire one of the most famous sunsets in the world – a magical experience!
The tour will end by taking you back to the starting point.
