Tour of Port and Fish Market in Santoña + Anchovy Museum
Tour Details
At the designated time, we'll meet at the Mirador de las Marismas pier to begin our tour. Interested in discovering the elaboration process of Santoña's famous anchovy? Let's get started!
We'll begin our tour by exploring the fishing port in this Cantabrian town while learning about its operations. Did you know that this is the most important port in Cantabria? We'll discuss the characteristics of the purse seine boats and uncover the secrets behind the marine vocabulary.
Afterward, we'll enter the fish market to see the auction room, where we'll learn all about the activity that takes place in the fish sale once it has been unloaded from the boats.
Continuing our tour, we'll head to the Galería de Arte de la Anchoa de Conservas Ana María, also known as the Anchovy Museum. Here, you'll visit this exhibition space and see 20th-century machinery, as well as the process of filleting anchovies.
Last but not least, you'll taste an anchovy fillet to finish our tour in the best way. Delicious!
After 2 hours, we'll say goodbye at the Anchovy Museum in Santoña.
