Hop aboard the Santo Domingo Tourist Train and embark on a journey through the Colonial City and delve into over 500 years of history!

Hop aboard the Santo Domingo Tourist Train and embark on a journey through the Colonial City and delve into over 500 years of history!

Description

After meeting at the indicated time at the corner of Calle Isabel La Católica and Calle El Conde, we'll board the charming tourist train of the Colonial City of Santo Domingo. Let our historical journey begin!

Once the train starts its route, we'll put on our headphones to listen to the English-speaking audio guide explaining the monuments as we pass by. Who founded the city and how did they do it? What momentous events took place in the buildings we'll see? No question will be left unanswered!

We'll learn several fun facts, such as that Santo Domingo was the first seat of government of the Crown of Castile on the American continent. Did you know that? Without a doubt, you'll enjoy a historical lecture on wheels on the Santo Domingo tourist train.

Along the route, we'll see more than 35 monuments, including churches, historic houses, the first castle in America and the imposing Cathedral of this Colonial City. This area of Santo Domingo, declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco, is home to one of the richest histories of the Caribbean Sea.

After an eye-opening 45-minute tour, we'll say goodbye at the initial meeting point.
