On this tour of Three Eyes National Park, we'll visit one of the great tourist attractions of Santo Domingo and go on a boat ride on one of the lagoons – not to be missed!
Description
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up in front of the San Francisco ruins in the Plaza de España to embark on an exploration of the Three Eyes (Los Tres Ojos) National Park. Are you ready to discover this unique gem in Santo Domingo?
Upon arrival, we'll venture into one of the Dominican Republic's renowned underground caves, which was shaped by the rise of rivers, resulting in three natural lakes that look like "Three Eyes" ("Tres Ojos"). Discovered in 1916, this cave is believed to have served as a gathering spot for the indigenous people to perform ceremonial rituals and sacrifices.
While touring the Three Eyes, we'll be able to admire the diverse fauna that inhabit this paradise of crystal-clear waters, including a wide variety of fish and bats. Additionally, the cave's rocky walls showcase the island's largest species of fern, which can reach heights of up to 4 meters.
Next, we'll take a short boat ride on a fourth lagoon and find out which famous movies have been filmed here!
Finally, after 2 hours of exploring, we'll end the tour by returning to the meeting point.
