Tour Details
At your chosen time, we'll meet in front of the Royal House Museum and start our guided tour of Santo Domingo's Ciudad Colonial. During our tour, we'll explore the most symbolic spots in the oldest part of the Dominican capital.
First of all, we'll go to the Basilica Cathedral of Santa María la Menor, which is the oldest cathedral in the North American continent. After seeing this magnificent building, whose construction was ordered by Charles V, we'll head to the oldest fort built by Europeans in America: Fortaleza Ozama.
We'll then stroll along Las Damas Street, where we'll stop to admire the House of Rodrigo Bastidas, who founded several cities in South America. We'll also see the former residences of Nicolás de Ovando and Dávila as we continue learning about the colonial era in Santo Domingo.
Afterwards, we'll visit the National Pantheon, the Royal House Museum and the Plaza de España, where the iconic Alcazar de Colón is located.
After 2 hours spent delving into the history of Santo Domingo, we'll say our goodbyes.
