Palacio de Velarde Guided Tour
Description
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the entrance to Palacio de Velarde to start a guided tour of this elegant building in Santillana del Mar. First of all, we'll learn about the details of its construction.
We'll continue to the second floor, where we'll find a great hall where the ghosts of the illustrious inhabitants of the Palacio de Velarde live. Will we see Pedro Velarde, Ricardo León or the aristocrat Trinidad Von Sholt Hermensdorff? You'll get goosebumps!
Then, we'll go up to the third floor, where we'll learn about Renaissance architecture, the lineage of the Velarde family and the coats of arms that the palace had over time.
We'll also see how well-preserved the rooms are. Here, we'll find the office of Frida Kahlo's doctor, Francisco Guerra. From this room, we'll also have the best panoramic views of Santillana del Mar and the town's historic centre.
After approximately 40 minutes, we'll end our guided tour of Palacio de Velarde.
