Discover the wonders hidden in the ground of Tequisquiapan on this day trip to the El Redentor mine. We'll also visit the Viña TX vineyard. The perfect combination for lovers of nature and wine!

Tour Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the Regional Museum of Santiago de Querétaro, from where we'll depart in an off-roading vehicle to the El Redentor opal mine.

After about a 1.5-hour drive, we'll arrive at the mine, where we'll immerse ourselves in the process of opal extraction, polishing and finishing. Did you know that the state of Querétaro is the birthplace of opal in Mexico? This mineral, known for its dazzling colours, has been mined since pre-Hispanic times—we'll tell you all about it during the tour!

After exploring the mines, we'll head to the Viña TX vineyard, located in Tequisquiapan. There, we'll take you on a guided tour in which we'll explain every detail of the winemaking process and the history of one of the most charming family vineyards in the region. During the tour, we'll have a tasting of regional cheeses accompanied by a glass of Querétaro wine.

After this oenological experience, you'll have an hour of free time in Tequisquiapan for lunch. You can also stroll through the charming cobbled streets of this Pueblo Mágico, full of history and culture, and discover the places that have witnessed the passing of prominent figures in Mexican politics and culture.

Feeling refuelled, we'll start our way back to Santiago de Querétaro, and we'll say goodbye at your hotel approximately 10 hours after pickup.
