Santiago del Estero Culture Tour
Santiago del Estero Culture Tour
After picking you up at 10 am at your hotel in Santiago del Estero, we'll head towards one of the most famous places in the city.
We'll stop in the Boca del Tigre neighbourhood, a district where you'll find the famous patio of Indio Froilán. This name refers to José Froilán González, a well-known luthier who will teach you how to make the 'bombo legüero' (bass drum). Did you know that this instrument is one of the most important in the traditional music of Santiago del Estero?
We'll also see up close and in person the live process of making the 'bombo legüero', which must be done with a brazier and a blackened kettle. This container is the key to making a high quality musical instrument.
Afterwards, in the courtyard of Indio Froilán you'll enjoy a delicious traditional lunch that includes tamales or empanadas accompanied by a typical dessert. As a drink, you can opt for a glass of wine or soda.
Food & Dance Workshop Tour
If you wish to enjoy the folklore and regional culture of Santiago del Estero in more depth, you can book the option that includes a food and dance workshop. In this case, you'll get to prepare the lunch described in the previous section.
After regaining your strength, you'll attend a fun dance class in which you'll learn typical Santiago dances such as chacareras and gatos. Finally, we'll take you back to your hotel in Santiago del Estero four hours after pickup.
