Vigo & Baiona Day Trip

On the morning of the excursion, we'll meet up at the indicated time at the Praza da Galicia in the heart of Santiago de Compostela, ready to embark on our route to the south of Galicia.

Once we've begun, we'll make our way towards Vigo, the biggest city in Galicia. Once we've arrived, we'll head towards the Cas o Vello, the oldest part of the city where we'll see the Praza de Constitución Square graced by its historic buildings and small terraces.

Next, we'll see the Santa María de Vigo Cocathedral, a neoclassical church from the 19th century. Little by little, we'll reach the A Pedra Market where we'll soak up the aromas and tastes of Galicia. Afterwards, we'll start heading towards Monte del Castro. Get your cameras ready to take some amazing photos of the views. We'll also explore the Castelo do Castro.

We'll continue along the cobblestone streets which will take us to the Porta do Sol, where one of the most famous sculptures in the city is found: the Siren. We'll learn all about its significance! Lastly, we'll walk down the vibrant Rúa Príncipe, where you'll have free time to grab something to eat.

Next stop? Baiona! We'll walk down the Rúa del Conde until we reach the Colegiata de Santa María, an imposing gothic church from the 18th century. We'll also visit the historic Capilla de la Misericordia

We'll then ahead towards the iconic Baiona Parador, a medieval fortress that currently houses the most famous hotel in the city. Aching for more? We'll walk along the promenade to visit the giant Virgen de la Roca statue, all while learning about the Discovery of America.

Then, you'll have free time to rest and keep exploring Baiona. Be sure to visit its charming terraces that face the sea to enjoy some stunning views of the Baiona.

Finally, 11 hours later, we'll say our goodbyes back at the meeting point in Santiago.
