Tour to Muxía and Fisterra
Tour to Muxía and Fisterra
At the indicated time, we'll meet at Rúa dos Bautizados in Santiago de Compostela. From this point, we'll get on a bus to start the excursion to Muxía and Fisterra (in Spanish: Mugía and Finisterre). Let's go!
For our first stop, we'll go to the lighthouse of Fisterra, built in the middle of the 19th century. Here, in the middle of the viewpoint of the End of the World, is also the supposed kilometer 0 of the Camino de Santiago!
We'll enjoy incredible views of the Costa da Morte and then, after an hour of exploring the area, we'll take a bus to the town of Fisterra. We'll leave you an hour and 15 minutes of free time to have lunch and explore this charming town. You can take the opportunity to stroll around the port, visit the 12th-century church of Nuestra Señora de las Arenas, or admire the façade of the castle of San Carlos!
Our next stop will be at Muxía. Accompanied by the guide, we'll visit the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Barca, which has a very special connection to the Camino de Santiago. We'll unveil its story and we'll also talk about the magical-religious value of the huge stones next to the temple.
Finally, we'll finish the excursion by arriving back at the starting point 6.5 hours later.
