Camino de Santiago: The Final Stage
Camino de Santiago: The Final Stage
After meeting at the scheduled time on Rúa de Tras Salomé, you'll board a comfortable vehicle and we'll take you to the A Coruña town of Lavacolla.
Once at this picturesque town, we'll give you a hat, a trekking pole, and a map to take on the final section of the Camino de Santiago (also known as St. James' Way). You'll then be on your own to enjoy this incredible experience in these breathtaking surroundings.
Departing from the church in Lavacolla, you'll have to head towards Monte do Gozo. From this point, you catch the first glimpse of the cathedral in Santiago, and your guide will be waiting to give you a few explanations about the route and the history of this location. There are various figures that represent Pope John Paul II, and two giant statues of pilgrims that point you in the direction of Santiago. This is the final stretch!
After the informative explanation at Monte do Gozo, you'll continue your trek to Santiago. When you get there, your guide will be waiting for you once again, this time in the Praza do Obradoiro. Congratulations, you've made it!
After some more information about the history of this monumental square, we'll give you a certificate to prove that you've completed this stage of the Camino. We'll finish the pilgrim's tour at the Holy Door of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela after a total of 3 to 3.5 hours.
Important
The guide will be with you at Lavacolla, Monte do Gozo and Praza do Obradoiro to explain the history and a few anecdotes about these places. However, you will complete the trek between these three points (corresponding to the final 6.2 miles of the Camino de Santiago) by yourself, with no accompaniment from the guide.
The accreditation that we give you at the end is not an official Certificate of Distance or completion, as given by the official Pilgrim's Reception Office.
