The guide Ignacio was excellent, polite, friendly, patient, helpful, attentive, we only have praise. He loves the history of Chile, he answers everything we ask. In addition to having contributed great photos for my daughter's Instagram.

Delve deep into Santiago's most important monuments and fascinating history on a private tour with your very own English-speaking guide. Tailor your itinerary to get the best of the Chilean capital!

Why book a private tour?

When you reserve a private tour of Santiago de Chile, you have the benefit of an exclusive English-speaking guide just for you and your partner, family or friends - there will be no one else in your group. And what's more, if you're a larger group, you'll save money!

Santiago de Chile Private Tour Itinerary

Having met your expert English-speaking guide, you'll begin your personalised sightseeing route around Santiago de Chile. Learn all about the historic city's past and present as you observe the striking contrasts here.

First, you'll explore the República district in the west of Santiago, a traditional neighbourhood known for its rich cultural and historic heritage. You'll make a stop at the Club Hípico de Santiago, Chile's oldest horse racing track. Built in the style of legendary French racecourses like Longchamp, the beautiful 19th century building is just one example of the European influence on the area's architecture.

Head deep into the heart of Santiago next, admiring the city's most emblematic monuments in the Plaza de Armas. You'll see the majestic Metropolitan Cathedral, the Chilean National Museum of Natural History, the City Hall and much more...

The Chilean capital is also home to two peaks that have become natural oases for tourists and locals alike. During your private tour, you'll have the opportunity to visit Cerro Santa Lucía, the hill on which Santiago was first founded. These impressive French-style gardens are home to the rustic Hidalgo Castle and a viewpoint. You can also choose to visit the San Cristóbal Hill, the city's largest urban park, which offers spectacular panoramic views all the way to the Andes. When making your reservation, you'll be able to choose between visiting one or both of these hills.

Immerse yourself in more culture next, making your way to the National Fine Arts Museum, located beside the Mapocho River which divides the city in two. You'll then visit the bohemian Bellavista district where you'll see the house-museum of poet Pablo Neruda, known as La Chascona.

Finally, your last stop will be at the Mercado Central, Santiago de Chile's main food market. Your guide will show you all the best places to enjoy the tastes of Chilean cuisine.

You'll then be able to choose whether to end your tour at the market, or being dropped back off at your hotel or another convenient location in Santiago city centre.

Hotel pick up

This tour includes a pick up and drop off service at hotels in the following areas of Santiago de Chile: Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura and Santiago Centro. Your guide will contact you to arrange an alternative meeting point if your accommodation is located in a different area, or if you prefer to begin your tour elsewhere in the city centre.
