Santiago de Chile Panoramic Bus Tour
Santiago Panoramic Bus Tour
After being picked up from your hotel in Santiago at the time of your choice, we'll head to the first stop on the guided bus tour: the Club Hípico de Santiago, a thoroughbred horse race track based on the famous Parisian Longchamp Hippodrome. Chile's oldest racecourse, the beautiful building was opened in 1870.
Travel further back in time as you make your way into the heart of Santiago's historic centre, where you'll visit the Plaza de Armas, the city's main square; the 19th century Santiago Metropolitan Cathedral; and La Moneda Palace. Formerly a colonial plantation house and the country's mint, this impressive Neoclassical building is nowadays the seat of the President of Chile and home to many important government offices.
Bear witness to the origins of Chile's capital next, visiting the Cerro Santa Lucía, the hill where the city of Santiago was founded on 'Santa Lucía Day' (13th December) in 1540. Having explored the park and its distinctly European feel, you'll next head towards the Chilean National Museum of Fine Arts. Here you'll be able to see how the Mapocho River divides Santiago de Chile in two.
Your panoramic bus tour of the city will continue into the bohemian Bellavista neighbourhood followed by the contrasting contemporary area of Santiago, and La Chascona, the Pablo Neruda House Museum.
Finally, you'll make a stop in a local handicrafts store near the Central Market, before being dropped back off at your hotel at the end of your comprehensive city tour.
Tour + San Cristóbal Hill
When making your reservation, you'll have the option to substitute going to Santa Lucía Hill with a visit to San Cristóbal Hill, or Cerro San Cristóbal, instead. This peak affords spectacular panoramic views over the city of Santiago de Chile all the way to the Andes mountain range.
Alternatively, if you don't want to miss out on either of these incredible places, choose to do the tour visiting both of the hills.
Hotel pickup
This tour includes a pickup and drop-off service at hotels in the following areas of Santiago de Chile: Providencia, Las Condes, Vitacura and Santiago Centro. If your accommodation is located in a different district, your guide will contact you to arrange an alternative meeting point.
