Mapuche Textile Workshop
Activity Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet at the selected meeting point and head to a workshop for a unique cultural immersion experience. Are you ready to discover the Mapuche textile handicraft traditions?
Once we start the activity, we'll guide you step by step in the creation of your own textile, from the warping to the final weaving. Little by little, we'll learn how to weave on a handmade frame using a pre-Columbian technique that has practically disappeared.
The result will be a unique, lightweight piece, perfect to frame, use as a bookmark or simply to decorate a special corner, the perfect souvenir of this experience!
What's more, we'll share a moment of conversation while tasting some typical snacks of Chilean gastronomy. We'll savor dishes like sopaipillas, a fried bread pasty paired with pebre, a traditional Chilean salsa. Plus, we'll sample a classic Chilean sweet, manjar, accompanied by hot drinks such as tea, coffee and herbal infusions.
Then, 2.5 to 3 hours later, we'll bring this textile experience to an end. See you soon!
