A very interesting experience to learn more about the beautiful city of Santiago in terms of its gastronomy and social reality. Our guide Jaime was very kind and very clear in his story and in clarifying doubts. We had a great time!

Santiago's Markets Free Walking Tour

We'll meet at the scheduled time next to the equestrian statue of Pedro de Valdivia. With this free tour of Santiago de Chile, we'll discover the essence of the Chilean capital in a unique way, visiting its most famous markets. In Plaza de Armas Square in Santiago de Chile, we'll explain the historical context where the first supply areas were built in the 16th century.

We'll head towards the north of the city along Puente Street, the old Inca Trail, until we reach the famous Central Market. You'll contemplate its beautiful façade, learning much of its history and the importance of this market for the life of the local inhabitants. Inside, you'll see a large number of stalls selling fruit, vegetables, fish, meat... Exceptional quality and at very competitive prices!

We'll cross the north bank of the Mapocho River, formerly known as "La Chimba", which is nowadays a huge market where we'll find many fruit and vegetable stalls. It's also a perfect place to enjoy the hustle and bustle, the flavours, the smells and the rhythm of the city, which will allow you to experience the authentic Chilean rhythm of life.

Finally, we'll visit the Pérgola de las Flores, a market where we'll enjoy the popular art and the different flower stalls that fill the area with colour and joy. You'll fall in love with it!

The tour will end at the entrance to the Patronato neighbourhood after around 2 hours, where the guide will give you the best tips to continue discovering the city on your own.
