Make the most of your trip to Santiago de Chile: delve into the wine-making traditions of the Colchagua Valley, exploring beautiful vineyards and tasting some emblematic Chilean wine. What are you waiting for?
Wine Tour Details
We'll pick you up from your accommodation in Santiago on the day of your tour, leaving the hustle and bustle of the city behind to head deep into the Colchagua Valley. During the 2-hour drive through vineyard-covered rolling hills, your expert guide will tell you all about the different types of soil here... Did you know that the earth in this region is ideal for producing Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot?
Our first stop will be at the Viña Montes. While we get to know its history, we'll explore this emblematic vineyard and take a peek at the valley from its plantations. To conclude this visit, we'll make our way to the barrel room. Ready for a tasting? The best Montes wines await us! We'll try 4 different wines: 2 Monte Alpha M and Purple Angel, and 2 Monte Alpha.
Next, we'll head over to Viña Viu Manent. Here, we'll go directly to its restaurant La Rayuela, where you can grab yourself some lunch with scenic views of the vineyards. You'll have access to the best dishes from the Colchagua region paired with wines suggested by a sommelier.
After eating, we'll make our way to Viña Lapostolle Clos Apalta, a historical site for Chilean wine. We'll go on a tour of its vineyards that date back to 1907. Without a doubt, this visit will be a true masterclass in viticulture, where we will explore the most traditional practices in winemaking.
Of course, to top off this experience, we'll do a tasting of 3 wines: Le Petit Clos 2020, Clos Apalta 2020, and Clos Apalta 2013. Cheers!
Lastly, we'll return to our hotel in Santiago de Chile after a total of 11.5 hours.
