Cerro El Plomo 3 Day Trek
Day 1
After picking you up at 9 am from your hotel, we will leave Santiago de Chile and head east. After a journey of around two hours, we arrive at the Federation shelter, around 4,200 feet above sea level.
Then we set off on a four-hour walk to the base of El Plomo hill. Once there, the guides set up the camp and we will enjoy a delicious lunch.
Then you have your own free time until 6 pm before we meet back up again to explain the trekking route that we will undertake the next day. After, we enjoy a tasty dinner and then rest for the night. A great expedition awaits us tomorrow!
Day 2
It's an early start at 5 am for breakfast, before we start the hike to the summit of Cerro El Plomo. Up to eleven hours of trekking await us ahead! Along the way will make stops at the refuges of La Hoya and Agostini. We will continue to Pirca del Inca, where the remains of a mummified Inca child were discovered in 1954.
We will hike through glacier landscapes using crampons and ice axes, necessary tools for walking on the sheer ice. At around 1 pm, we will reach the summit of Cerro El Plomo where the views will leave you speechless! Then we take a snack and return to camp.
Back at the Federation shelter, we will have time to rest and enjoy a well-deserved dinner.
Day 3
After breakfast, we will begin the four-hour walk descent. At the bottom, the vehicle will be waiting to take you back to the capital. We will arrive in Santiago de Chile around 7 pm and drop you off at your hotel.
