Picos de Europa & Potes Hike
Hiking Details
We'll leave Santander in the morning and head to Fuente Dé, a town in the heart of the Picos de Europa. During the journey of an hour and a half, you'll admire some of the most impressive landscapes of Cantabria, such as the Hermida gorge.
Upon arriving at Fuente Dé, we'll take the cable car, reaching an altitude of 5,980 feet in just 4 minutes. From the Mirador del Cable observation point, you'll have some exceptional views of the Picos de Europa.
Then we start our 4-hour hiking route through the Picos de Europa National Park, enjoying the mountain air and impressive landscapes.
The hiking trail will consist of a 12-kilometre descent towards the picturesque village of Espinama. Along the way, if we're lucky, we'll get to see eagles, vultures, and other local species. We'll also have stops along the way to enjoy our natural surroundings.
After the hiking experience, we'll travel to Potes, a beautiful medieval town in the middle of a valley. Here you'll have two hours of free time to explore this village and re-energise with some food in a local restaurant.
After this break, we'll start our return to Santander, where we'll arrive after a total of twelve hours.
