Covadonga & Cangas de Onís Day Trip
Covadonga & Cangas de Onís Day Trip
Having met up on Calle Antonio López in Santander at the scheduled time, we'll introduce ourselves and hop aboard our minibus. We'll head into the Spanish region of Asturias.
After we've crossed into Asturias from Cantabria, we'll first make a brief stop in the picturesque town of Llanes. Then, we'll head to the Royal Site of Covadonga to visit La Santina. We'll enter the Basilica which stands tucked between the steep mountains of Covadonga, and learn all about its history and that of Asturias as well.
The route will then take us to the majestic Picos de Europa National Park. As we travel through the mountains, we'll come to the Entrelagos Viewpoint where you'll admire fantastic views of the Lakes of Covadonga. Here, you'll be able to take photos of the enchanting Ercina and Enol Lakes.
Our day trip will then take us to Cangas de Onís, a charming village where you'll have 2 hours of free time to try some of its delicious cuisine and cider. Once we've reconvened, we'll leave Cangas de Onís and return to Llanes for another brief stop. From this last Asturian town we'll finally return to the meeting point in Santander. Arrival in the capital of Cantabria is scheduled ten hours after the start of the activity.
