Santa Marta PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Course
Santa Marta PADI Open Water Scuba Diving Course
Day 1: Theory and practice in confined waters
At the designated time, you'll meet your instructor at the entrance of the Divanga Hostel in Santa Marta. You'll then head to the facilities where you'll be given all the equipment you'll need and some essential theory about diving techniques.
You'll learn how the different pieces of diving equipment work and how to put them on, position yourself underwater, use the air tanks, and empty the water mask. In addition, you'll be taught how to communicate underwater.
Next, you'll head to the hotel swimming pools to put the theory into practice.
Start times: 8 am or 1:30 pm
Days 2 & 3: Dives in open water
On the second and third days, you'll do a total of 4 open water dives in Tayrona Park. The Colombian Caribbean awaits! With your wetsuit on, you'll put your diving skills to the test and start to feel like a fish in water.
Once you've dived into the crystal-clear water off the coast of Santa Marta, you'll admire this area's vibrant underwater life. Get ready to see groupers, moray eels, gogo turtles, hawksbill turtles, and parrot fish!
As the course comes to an end, you'll take a final exam so you can get your official certification. This will then allow you to dive to a depth of 60 feet (18 meters) anywhere in the world.
Start times: 7:40 or 1 pm
