Barranquilla Day Trip
Barranquilla Day Trip
Rise and shine! We'll pick you up at 6:30 am from your accommodation in Santa Marta and head to Barranquilla, which is around 2 hours away. Do you know which international superstar is from here?
When we get there, we'll tour the El Prado neighbourhood, which was the first to apply the principles of modern urban planning - you'll love its elegant houses! We'll pause in front of the façade of the Amira de la Rosa Theatre, named after the lyricist of Barranquilla's anthem.
Our next destination will be the Plaza de la Aduana, the gateway to the city centre. We'll stroll through the narrow streets to admire the exterior of the Metropolitan Cathedral and the iconic Museum of the Caribbean.
We'll then come to the Cumbiódromo, where locals and visitors gather every year to celebrate the city's most-anticipated event: the Carnival of Barranquilla. This carnival is considered the most important folkloric event in Colombia.
After a fantastic day, we'll return to Santa Marta and take you back to your hotel. We'll drop you off and say our goodbyes at 2:30 pm.
