Description

Day 1

Bright and early at 4:30 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Santa Marta and hop aboard a comfortable vehicle that will take us to our first stop. Let's get started!

After a two-hour drive, we'll arrive at Palomino. There, we'll take a short break to admire the snow-capped peaks of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta and have breakfast.

We'll then drive for an hour towards Riohacha, arriving in Uribía, known as the indigenous capital of Colombia. Did you know that the majority of the population is Wayúu, a community that has inhabited this territory since ancient times? We'll take advantage in this unique place to learn about its history.

On board the vehicle, we'll explore the Manaure Salt Flats, where we'll see the ponds from where salt is extracted. Afterwards, we'll continue through the Ahuyama desert towards Cabo de la Vela while enjoying the incredible landscape that this land of contrasts offers us. It's time for lunch! We'll stop for a traditional-style meal in a Wayúu ranchería.

After two hours of free time, we'll hike to the rainbow beach, where you'll be able to admire an unforgettable sunset. Later that evening, we'll return to the ranchería to have dinner, stargaze, and rest until the next day in our hammocks.

Day 2

We'll wake up at dawn and enjoy a delicious breakfast at the ranchería to gather energy for the day!

Next, we'll leave for Pilón de Azúcar and Playa Dorada. Once there, we'll walk for 10 minutes to climb to the top of the Pilon and see the jaw-dropping Colombian sunset at the lighthouse. Immersed in this dazzling enclave, you'll have time to enjoy the deep calm of the place.

Later that day, we'll return to the ranchería to enjoy a delicious lunch. From there, we'll return to Santa Marta passing by the Malecon, where we'll stop to buy handmade artisan products to take back as souvenirs.

This 2-day trip will come to an end back at your hotel in Santa Marta.
