Tour Details
We'll meet at the designated time at Torre di Salignano, where we'll hop onto some bicycles to discover Santa Maria di Leuca. Did you know that this area was once known as Finibus Terrae (Land's End)?
We'll begin our 15-kilometre (9.3-mile) cycle by admiring the Defence Tower, designed to protect the area against Saracen incursions. Then, we'll head inland to settings full of charming villages, farms, and trails that breathe pure tranquillity.
Our next stop will be Patù, another neighbouring town, where we'll admire the famous Centopietre (Hundred Stones). Do you know what history this mysterious megalithic structure holds? We'll tell you all the details of this symbolic and legendary spot.
We'll continue onto the medieval castle Giuliano, one of the few forts in Salento that has maintained its original structure. We'll then head towards Barbarano, where the Santuario di Leuca Piccola is found, a place of worship that was also once a refuge for pilgrims.
Our bicycle tour will come to an end with a stop at the Antica Locanda Retró, where we'll enjoy a glass of wine paired with a selection of local cheeses.
After a total of 3 hours exploring the cape of Santa Maria di Leuca, our bicycle adventure will come to an end.
