South Galapagos Islands 5 Day Cruise
Day 1: Baltra & North Seymour Islands
On the day of your arrival, we'll pick you up from the Galapagos Islands Airport on Baltra Island. From there, we'll head to the boat that we'll take around the southern part of the Galapagos archipelago.
We'll have lunch on board the boat and arrive at the island of North Seymour, where we'll enjoy a 2-kilometre (1.2 miles) hiking route. We'll explore its rocky shores and start spotting the varied bird life that resides in the Galapagos, such as frigatebirds and blue-footed boobies - the best possible start to this 5-day tour!
Finally, we'll get back on the boat and have dinner while sailing to San Cristobal Island.
Day 2: San Cristóbal & Lobos Islands
As a new day dawns over the Pacific paradise. After breakfast, we'll come to Lobos Island, a small piece of land famous for its large population of sea lions. We'll learn all about this fascinating species and we'll even go can snorkelling with them.
In the afternoon, after lunch, we'll explore Cerro Brujo, one of the beaches on the north side of San Cristobal Island. Did you know that this area was visited by Charles Darwin himself? We'll learn about its rich biodiversity and we'll also see the nearby natural monument of the 'Sleeping Lion', an eroded cone of volcanic rock where frigatebirds and many tropical species make their home.
To end the day, we'll board the boat for a delicious dinner and rest for the next day.
Day 3: Floreana Island
The third day will be spent visiting Floreana Island, starting with the northern part of the island. There, we'll visit Punta Cormorant, which offers two contrasting beaches, one of which has green sand! We'll walk along these bays and we'll be able to see flamingos, crabs and other animals.
We'll have lunch on the boat and in the afternoon we'll take a boat trip to visit Post Office Bay, also part of Floreana. We'll go back to the 18th century to tell you the story of the curious post office located in this bay. Finally, we'll sleep on the boat to get our strength back for the next day.
Day 4: Española Island
On Española Island, we'll discover Gardner Bay, a place with a white sandy beach where species such as swallow-tailed gulls, hawks, albatrosses, and hooded mockingbirds live. If the weather is good, you can even take a dip in its waters.
We'll explore Gardner Island and Osborn Islet and, in the afternoon, we'll go to Punta Suárez. At this point on Española Island, we'll discover why the Galapagos have become a tourist attraction for zoology lovers. On this island, we'll see iguanas, tortoises, sea lions, lizards, and all kinds of birds.
We'll finish the day enjoying dinner on board, and then sail towards Santa Cruz Island.
Day 5: Santa Cruz & Baltra Islands
At 8:30 am, we'll get off the boat at Santa Cruz Island to see the huge Santa Cruz tortoises in their natural habitat. An unforgettable experience!
After 5 days of adventure, we'll take you back to the Galapagos Airport on Baltra Island.
